‘Tis the season for audio awards, in which our favourite audiophile magazines single out the hi-fi kit that has most impressed their editors and expert reviewers over the course of the year. In the 2023 Hi-Fi Plus Awards, UK brand Exposure’s top-of-range VXN picks up the gong for ‘best phonostage (up to £10k)’.
The VXN is a standalone phonostage created with the serious vinyl enthusiast in mind. It is designed to be partnered with Exposure’s VXN Power Supply, forming a two-box set-up in which the sensitive phono circuits are entirely isolated from the power supply circuitry for the lowest possible noise and highest possible performance. For the absolute maximum experience, two VXN power supplies can be used, one for each channel, in a three-box dual mono configuration.

“Exposure’s phonostage delivers excellent performance with low noise levels, tonal realism and a focused soundstage,” writes Hi-Fi News. It provides “effortless musicality” and is “a formidable all-rounder.”
Reviewer Ed Selley adds, “The musical joy that the VXN brings to pretty much everything you play on it and the spread of equipment that it will work happily with at the same time makes this a tremendous device that continues Exposure’s tremendous recent run of form.”
