The worthy recipients of What Hi-Fi?’s coveted Best Buy Awards have just been revealed for 2017 and one small yet stunningly-formed turntable has won again – for the seventh time!
Hearty congratulations to Clearaudio, whose ever-innovative Concept turntable is once again winner in the category ‘Best Turntables £800-£1,200’.
What Hi-Fi?’s expert team tests the widest range of consumer electronics products and accessories, from the smallest in-ear headphones through to huge TVs, state-of-the-art high-end audio and home cinema components. Their annual Awards highlight the best in each of these categories, price-banded to suit every budget.
In announcing the Concept’s seventh award win, What Hi-Fi? said, “It’s difficult not to be enamoured by the precision of the Concept’s timing. It’s incredibly fast, yet consistently in control, never stumbling or tripping over its laces.”
“Anyone who treasures their stack of vinyl deserves to know just what delights the Clearaudio has to offer,” write the magazine’s reviewers in their latest group test (November 2017) of four of the best mid-range record players, describing the Concept as “a conceptual masterpiece.”
Winning the group test with a full five-star rating for every parameter, the Concept’s concept is summed up as “essentially getting the most exceptional sound you can from your records at this price.”
