Every year, Hi-Fi Plus magazine picks out the best products its review team has seen over the previous 12 months. When it comes to headphones, not one but two from Dan Clark Audio are commended as being among the very best: one at the high-end and one high on value.

High-End Headphone of the Year – Highly Commended: Ether 2
The planar magnetic Ether 2 “offers a substantial, satisfying step forward in terms of sound quality and overall musical enjoyment,” said Hi-Fi Plus. “It’s clear Dan Clark went to town on this model… the Ether 2 provides a sound quality that is unparalleled at its price or beyond.”
High-Value Headphone of the Year – Highly Commended: Aeon 2
Meanwhile, the recently-released Aeon 2 “isn’t simply a slight modification to an existing product [but] a root-and-branch change to the original model.” In fact the Aeon 2 is actually two headphones, since is comes in both open back and closed back versions. “The Aeon 2 might just be the best travel headphone ever made, combining the finest performance with the best isolation you can get this side of active noise cancellation.”
