‘Turntable of the year’ is always a hotly contested category and in 2015 the Clearaudio Concept once again scooped the ‘Best turntable’ award in the £800+ price range – making this the Concept’s fifth year as a What Hi-Fi? winner.

The Concept’s concept is brilliantly simple: to deliver an elegantly styled turntable package featuring a level of groundbreaking technology usually only found in high-end turntables, combining plug-and-play simplicity with outstanding sound quality and affordability.

“If you feel the need for an outstanding turntable, don’t think twice,” said the What Hi-Fi? review team, describing the Concept as, “a thoroughly sorted, easy-to-own package with tremendous sound.”

What HiFi? magazine selects Gamut pre/power amps as new reference

Earlier this year, What HiFi? magazine reviewed Danish brand Gamut’s starter £15,000 pre/power amplifier pairing, the D3i/D200i. “It impressed us so much that we decided to swap our long-serving reference Bryston amps for the Gamut combination,” said technical editor Ketan Bharadia.

“That’s not the kind of thing we do often or lightly,” he added. “The Brystons have been our reference for the best part of a decade – but it just shows how highly we rate the Gamut pairing.”

What HiFi? thought it only right that they found out a little bit more about the company, and so travelled to Denmark for a peek behind the scenes at Gamut.
