Now, the XM3 phonostage, XM5 integrated amp, XM7 preamp and XM9 mono power amps are joined by the new XM HP headphone amplifier.
Launched in 2017, British brand Exposure’s XM series of amplifiers is cleverly designed to pack a raft of high-performance features into a compact half-width design. Hi-Fi World’s Martin Pipe puts the XM5 integrated amp to the test – and awards it the full five stars.
Each year, the Hi-Fi Choice Yearbook singles out the greatest-sounding audio products reviewed by the magazine’s expert team during the previous 12 months. On news-stands now, the 2017 edition’s chosen few includes no less than three of British brand Exposure’s amplifiers. All three are from the company’s small but brilliantly conceived XM series.
The festive season is upon us, which can only mean one thing. “It’s difficult to believe, but the wretched, guilty truth is that not everyone that plays music in high-quality stereo wants large areas of their house to be occupied by hi-fi equipment,” writes David Price in the November issue of Hi-Fi Choice. Fortunately, British audio brand Exposure has come to the rescue with its niche XM series which packs “a serious punch in half-sized boxes”. Price puts the XM7 preamp/DAC and XM9 mono power amps to the test.
“Don’t be fooled by its petite exterior,” writes David Price in the magazine’s June issue, “this new integrated may be small in stature but it’s certainly not in sound.”
